"Not another wave shooter" is exactly what we've been waiting for to come on VR. The locomotion systems provided by the developers are spot on too. A wide variety of weapons to choose from, with very solid controls. The amount of gameplay available at this moment is definitely worth the buck. Given that Game Cooks is promising a slick update soon with more polishing and gameplay hours, I can't but recomend it to everyone with a VIVE right now (and soon occulus ) to try it out.. Pretty damn entertaining. The game starts off a bit easy but the levels quickly get harder. I love the movement controls for this game. Having to move your arms in a realistic way to simulate walking / running. Nice touch there. My favorite part though was the Hello Kitty grenade launcher. lol! How can you not love that? I really wish this game had melee weapons though. I would love to run up to some robots and slice some heads off, but thats just me.Feel free to check out my video if you want to see some gameplay.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYhXoeqL7L0. Super Fun Game! The moving locomotion is a nice change from tradtional VR games where all you can do is teleport. I like having free range of motion, it makes me feel like im actually moving instead of just jumping from place to place. The campaign style for this game really sets it apart from all the other VR shooters out there. Wave based VR Shooters are fun but after a while it gets too repeative and becomes boring. I give this game a 10/10 for creativity and not just sticking to what everyone else is doing for VR shooters. I'm excited to see what the devlopers of this game come out with next.. Solid mechanics! The gunplay, the locomotion, the climbing, the running towards enemies while dodging and shooting; it all feels great. The game plays kind of like Half Life or Vertigo (but with much faster action), with linear progression involving getting past waves of enemies and exploring maps. There is a stealth element, but I either haven't gotten far enough yet to need it, or just prefer to shoot first and ask questions later. It's not perfect. The worst part imo is the AI, which doesn't really do much. The enemies feel more like stationary turrets, which just stand there and shoot you (very slowly). The game ramps up the difficulty by just throwing a ton of enemies at you and trying to drown you in bullets. To their credit, dodging bullets and scoring headshots are all extra satisfying in VR. However, if you've played other more advanced shooters already in VR, then the AI will feel incredibly underwhelming. Since it is Early Access, I really hope the devs make improving the AI a top priority.Graphics are good. They're not great, but they're easy to look at and don't completely detract from the experience. The assets get a bit repetitive at times, though. Plus, the bulkiness of the robots and environment are reminiscent of low-poly mobile games. The graphics are definitely not going to blow your socks off like in Raw Data, but they're not going to make you regret your purchase either. I hope the devs improve this part as well, because immersion really starts to suffer after you've walked past your 1000th blue sci-fi crate.RECOMMEND BUYING? Maybe. If you can get it for $20 or less, then I say go for it. At $29.99, there's just not enough here to justify the price tag. I got the game for free, so price didn't bother me, but I definitely would regret paying $30 for this in its current state. If they redesign the AI and improve the graphics, then I'd say this is a good purchase. Until then, wait for a sale and weigh your options before deciding.. Super Fun Game! The moving locomotion is a nice change from tradtional VR games where all you can do is teleport. Pretty fantastic experience....until you hit level 14.I'm playing on a beast of a i7 7700/ nvidia 1080ti/ 64gb of DDR4 RAM and it crashes consistently in the last section of the arena. Which is exceptionally frustrating due to the length of the level. No save points and you're back to the beginning again. It's not an especially difficult game, just lots of fun, especially if you stealth about and pick off your opponents instead of run and gunning it. It's really a shame because the gameplay is great and the concept is really fun. The immersion is ace as well. But getting so far in the game only have it glitch out and boot you back to the start of a level regardless of how many ways you approach the arena is a real loss of my vote. Please add a save point or figure out how to load such a huge level without crashing out systems. I will happily give this a thumbs up when this issue is fixed. Until then you might want to wait to purchase this because the frustration level is high.. This game is great and improves on VR's technical issues in many ways. I barely felt any motion sickness or weird vertigo feelings. The gunplay is fun, dodging bullets is fun, but the fatal flaw is that (and I'm sure this can be patched) you cannot run and gun. Meaning you must wiggle your arms to hop 5 feet, shoot and repeat to dodge bullets since they shoot where you were. So basically, the game itself and overall, is not that fun and seems repetitive. I played for 73 minutes.. Overall the game is pretty polished.. The graphics look decent enough for VR, the guns handle fine although not big fan of the shotgun. I'm also not a fan of the arm swinger locomotion at all but luckily there is trackpad locomotion as an option. The levels try to throw some variety with a few climbing parts and ducking down to avoid fans and such. There is a decent variety in mobs although the humanoid type robots are a bit bland and to easy as they don't move and just shoot from a static point.I'ts not a wave shooter, it follows a story and you progress through levels so that aspect alone is good considering there are so few of them in VR. The price seems steep to me i'd think $20 would be the final price not $30... guess we will see maybe by launch it will be worth $30 since it's still EA... This is a really fun game. I have played it through a couple of times and I found 2 of the three locomotion options were awesome while the 1st one wasn't working for me. It is very easy for the first 2 levels but after that, it really comes to life. I have had a great deal of fun and highly recommend it. The arm-swinger locomotion is what I ended up using most but there is also trackpad smooth locomotion. there was a decent amount of variation with weapons and I discovered things I missed on the 1st playthrough. Last, the developers seem very engaged and on the 2nd playthrough, about 2 weeks apart, I noted new aspects to the missions and lots of fresh sound effects having been added. I enjoyed it and will happily be playing some more. I look forward to seeing the full out of EA release!. https://youtu.be/6K-r4T3GeAkVindicta seems to be a light, story driven, made for VR FPS that looks pretty good and for the most part feels pretty good too.As of this review, Vindicta is an Early Access title and there are some EA hiccups. The trackpad locomotion has some quirks which are easier to view in the linked video than to explain in text. Sliding your thumb in new directions doesn't always register the new direction. This is the biggest issue with the game and hopefully they'll resolve it quickly.Outside of the trackpad issues there were some positional audio quirks that are just a bit off. I could determine the direction sound was coming from but it sounded far too close in a few instances. Not too big an issue but still something I hope gets fixed. The only other issue that comes to mind is the two handed weapons don't seem to have the correct pivot points for both hands. The pivot points seem to be sitting a foot or so forward of the hand they should be pivoting on.So far these 3 are the only significant issues worth mentioning and they didn't really hinder the gameplay or fun factor of the game. The trackpad issue was a bit frustrating but could be worked around. Extended use might be more frustrating but after just 30 minutes I was still tolerant of it.The things I liked:The tutorial. It was short, sweet and to the point. A concise tutorial that shows you exactly what you need to know without wasting a lot of time is always welcome. The voice acting was pretty good and reminded me a lot of Raw Data and how they deliver story pieces. Which isn't a bad thing.Blowing up bots is just satisfying. Getting that positive feedback for getting head shots was a nice touch. At the end of the mission we got a taste of more difficult bots which I like. Hoping for a higher difficulty level for the rest of the missions.Multiple forms of locomotion. They opted for Walkie as the comfort option instead of teleport. There are two different Walkie options, one where you're oriented by the HMD and the other where you're oriented by the controllers. And of course the trackpad locomotion I used and commented on above.I will say, there only appears to be 4 levels + a tutorial. That may be a bit steep of a price. I'm going to give it a thumbs up. Get it while it's on sale or wait for a content update.
